Daily new web mashups by users like You and Me

(cc) Sukanto Debnath mashed me up, excellent
I really like to read and explore daily new web mashups written by users like you and me.

What is a mashup? And can we eat API? <- its tastes fantastic.

Mashup (web application hybrid) is a web application that combines data and/or functionality from more than one source by using an API...(wiki)

An application programming interface (API) is a source code interface that an operating system or library provides to support requests for services to be made of it by computer programs. (wiki)

John Musser's ProgrammableWeb is one of my favorit collection, where you can keep-up with what's new and interesting with mashups, Web 2.0 APIs, and the new Web as Platform, produced by the community we are.

Today i explored Videeoz
- which collects for you media results, depending on what your search, from Youtube, LiveVideo and Flickr/Yahoo Images in one page -

Phreetings (Photo + Greetings)
- a service for creating photo greeting cards on the fly by using a drag-and-drop technique and Flickr creative commons licensed images -

and OdinJobs, an US Job Market Overview about salary, job skills, and roles based on location -

some examples of these mashups:

videeoz: Young Mc - a friendly hip hopper in the 80s/90s
phreetings: hello to you, lovely greeting card on the fly.
OdinJobs: Support - Customer Service, Help Desk California(CA) Job Market Overview

Well, of course there are many of this type of mashups now and our main problem is still the high query time or also called 'heavy page loading', when we collect/request data from more sources, but its still amazing to use this technique for the next web years, imho.
