New Update: Experimental Version of HTML5 Audio Player

  • share Share

yep, HTML5 will be the new web standard… and so i am continuing to study and research more about html5.

I rebuilt my first audio web player experiment, based on html5 audio elements.

The first version grabs only a small, static list of tracks from jamendo and creates the audio html5 element on the run, which your browser can play.

Now the 2nd version, which is just a proof-of-concept – is api-based, so the player receives tracklists and artist information dynamically by using jamendo’s API service.

Current web browser support:

  • Google Chrome
  • Safari (iPhone, iPad)

    Hi,

I do really like this player ok the search function crashes sometimes and there need maybe 1-2 control features more (loudness/song-progress) but it´s cool. I did deinstall flash since I found the html5 mode in youtube (not all videos are working but most) I am a bit disapointed that the jamaindo site does not have an alternative html5 player but I found it here thanks ;)

I also do like your blog very much. I am thinking of making one in next time, too.

Hi, I’ve been using this jamendo player with the firefox 4 beta and it works excellently for the most part. I do not get the visualizations to work at all. Also I don’t know how possible this is, but Firefox 4 has a new feature called App Tabs. I’m interested if there could be a menu to control the music player when right clicking the tab.
